Tantrik Baba Ji in India - Kamakhya Astrologer Pandit Ravi Bhargav Ji

People across India have practiced Tantra Vidya for thousands of years as part of the broader Hindu knowledge system. It draws from ancient texts including the Atharva Veda and the Shakta Tantras, and it works alongside Vedic astrology rather than apart from it. I am Pandit Ravi Bhargav Ji, known as Kamakhya Astrologer, and over the past 20+ years I have studied both the Vedic and Tantrik traditions in depth. My practice is rooted in the classical texts and the teachings associated with the Kamakhya Shakti Peetha of Assam - one of the 51 most sacred sites in Hinduism. This article explains what Tantra Vidya is, where it comes from, and how I apply this knowledge when working with clients across India.

What Does "Tantrik Baba Ji" Actually Mean in the Hindu Tradition?

The word "Tantra" comes from two Sanskrit roots - "Tanoti" meaning to expand, and "Trayate" meaning to liberate. Together, Tantra refers to a body of knowledge focused on expanding awareness and freeing the mind from obstacles. A Tantrik is a practitioner who has formally studied this system under a qualified guru.
In Hindu tradition, Tantra is not separate from everyday religious life. It encompasses practices such as:
  • Mantra - sacred sound vibrations chanted with specific intention
  • Yantra - geometric diagrams used as focal points during puja and sadhana
  • Puja and Stotra - forms of ritualistic worship dedicated to specific deities
  • Yoga and Dhyana - meditative disciplines linked to the Tantrik path
There are two primary paths in Tantra Shastra - Dakshin Marg (the right-hand path, which is purely sattvic in nature) and Vama Marg (the left-hand path). My practice as Kamakhya Astrologer follows the Dakshin Marg approach, grounded in classical Shakta Tantra as associated with Maa Kamakhya.

The Significance of Kamakhya in Tantrik Practice

The Kamakhya Temple in Nilachal Hills, Guwahati, Assam, is one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India. According to Hindu mythology, it is the site where the yoni of Goddess Sati fell after Lord Shiva carried her across the cosmos in grief. This makes Kamakhya a deeply powerful center for Shakta Tantra - the tradition that honors Maa Shakti as the primal creative force behind all existence.
The temple follows the Kulachara Tantra Marga tradition. Priests and practitioners here work within a strict system of ritual knowledge passed down across generations. The Ambubachi Mela, held annually in June, draws Tantrik sadhus, saints, and devotees from all over the country.
My name - Kamakhya Astrologer - reflects a direct connection to this tradition. The guidance I offer to clients is shaped by the Shakta Tantrik framework, which centers on the energies of Maa Kamakhya, the ten Mahavidyas, and the planetary forces described in classical Jyotish.

How I Work with Clients as a Tantrik Baba Ji

When someone comes to me, the first thing I do is listen. Each person's situation is different, and Tantra Vidya is not a one-size-fits-all approach. After understanding what the person is going through, I look at the following:

Kundali and Graha Analysis

I examine the birth chart to understand which planets - Shani, Rahu, Ketu, Mangal, or others - are placed in challenging positions. Certain Graha doshas such as Shani Sade Sati, Rahu Mahadasha, or Pitra Dosha can create significant disruptions in a person's life when left unaddressed in the Vedic sense.

Identifying the Right Approach

Depending on what I see in the chart and hear from the person, I decide whether a Vedic puja, a Tantrik sadhana, or a combination of both is most appropriate. Not every situation requires Tantrik methods. I use them where the classical texts specifically call for them.

Mantra and Sadhana Guidance

I assign specific mantras based on the deity and planetary combination relevant to the client's chart. For example, recitation of the Kali Kavach or Dhumavati Stotra may be relevant for certain Rahu-related patterns. For Shani-related issues, the Shani Chalisa or Hanuman Chalisa are commonly recommended alongside the appropriate planetary remedies.

Yantra and Ritual Remedies

In certain cases, I recommend the use of a specific Yantra such as the Shri Yantra, Bagalamukhi Yantra, or Kali Yantra. These are prepared and energized according to the procedures described in the relevant Tantrik texts, not casually made or sold as decorative objects.

Common Situations People Come to Me With

People from across India reach out to Kamakhya Astrologer for many different reasons. Some of the more common ones include:
  • Persistent obstacles in career or business - where Vedic chart analysis may reveal a weak Jupiter, afflicted 10th house, or Rahu-Ketu axis affecting livelihood
  • Repeated difficulties in marriage or family relationships - which in Jyotish may be linked to Mangal Dosha, a weak Venus, or 7th house afflictions
  • Unexplained patterns of misfortune - which some clients associate with Nazar (evil eye) or Drishti-related issues referenced in regional folk traditions of India
  • Questions about Pitra Dosha - when clients feel that ancestral karmic patterns are affecting their present circumstances, addressed through Pitru Puja and specific remedies
I approach each of these with a clear, methodical reading of the birth chart first. The Tantrik element of my practice comes in where it is genuinely called for, not as a default answer to every question.

What Separates a Genuine Tantrik Baba from Those Who Misuse the Name

This is a question I am asked regularly, and it is a fair one. There are people who use the title Tantrik Baba Ji without any authentic knowledge of the tradition. A few things that distinguish a genuine practitioner:
  • He works from classical texts - the Agamas, Nigamas, and the Shakta Tantras - not from vague claims
  • He does not promise fixed results or use fear to push someone toward expensive rituals
  • He is willing to explain what a remedy is, what it is based on, and why it applies to your situation
  • He has learned formally, from a guru lineage, over many years
I have spent over 20 years learning this knowledge across both the Vedic and Tantrik frameworks. When a client sits with me, I explain my reading in plain terms. I do not speak in riddles or use uncertainty as a tool.

Why People from Across India Consult Kamakhya Astrologer

Over the years, people from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, and many smaller towns across India have consulted with me. Some come in person; many others reach out by phone or online.
What brings them back - or leads them to refer others - is straightforward communication, proper astrological analysis, and remedies that are grounded in the actual tradition rather than improvised.
India has an extraordinarily rich heritage of both Vedic Jyotish and Tantrik knowledge. My work as a Tantrik Baba Ji is to make that heritage accessible and practical for people who need real guidance, not vague promises.

Important FAQs.

Black magic is a broad modern term often used for practices believed to involve harmful supernatural influence, while different Indian traditions use terms such as tantra, prayoga, or abhichara differently. I do not treat every unexplained problem as proof of black magic. A careful assessment separates traditional beliefs from ordinary personal, medical, financial, or relationship difficulties.
Traditional beliefs may associate unexplained fear, repeated disturbing experiences, unusual family conflict, persistent obstacles, or sudden changes with negative supernatural influence. These signs are not proof of black magic because many ordinary circumstances can produce similar experiences. I examine the person's situation and, where appropriate, horoscope factors instead of declaring black magic solely from symptoms or coincidence.
A Kundli cannot scientifically prove that someone has performed black magic. In traditional astrology, however, practitioners may examine difficult planetary combinations, Rahu, Ketu, Saturn, the Moon, the 8th house, and current dashas when a person reports such concerns. I use these factors as part of an astrological interpretation, not as independent evidence that a ritual was performed.
Traditional astrologers may pay particular attention to Rahu, Ketu, Saturn, the Moon, the 8th house, and the 12th house when someone reports unusual negative experiences. Their actual meaning depends on the complete horoscope. I examine house lords, aspects, conjunctions, planetary strength, dashas, and transits rather than saying that one difficult planet automatically indicates black magic.
Hanuman Chalisa is widely used as a Hindu devotional prayer, and many devotees recite it for courage, protection, and faith during difficult periods. It is not scientifically established as a treatment for black magic. I may discuss Hanuman worship as a traditional religious practice while also encouraging practical attention to any real-world problem causing fear or distress.
Traditional Hindu practices commonly include Hanuman prayers, Durga mantras, Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, and other deity-specific prayers for protection. The appropriate practice depends on the person's religious tradition and purpose. I explain the meaning and traditional use rather than presenting a mantra as proof that black magic exists or claiming that chanting alone can resolve every difficult situation.
Some traditional beliefs connect unexplained relationship disruption with negative supernatural influence, but astrology cannot establish that black magic caused a breakup. I first examine the 5th and 7th houses, Venus, Moon, Mars, dashas, and relationship circumstances. Communication problems, incompatibility, family pressure, and personal decisions should also be considered before attributing relationship difficulties to black magic.
I begin by listening to the specific concerns rather than assuming black magic is responsible. If astrology is involved, I examine the Kundli, planetary periods, relevant houses, and difficult combinations. I also consider ordinary explanations for the reported events. This approach prevents normal relationship, financial, family, or personal problems from automatically being treated as supernatural activity.
Some traditional beliefs associate supernatural influence with physical or mental discomfort, but such beliefs are not medical evidence. Persistent pain, sleep problems, anxiety, unusual sensations, or other health concerns should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional. Religious prayers can be part of personal faith, but they should not replace medical evaluation or prescribed treatment.
Avoid anyone who uses fear to pressure you into repeated payments, demands secrecy, threatens severe consequences, or claims certainty without examining the situation. A responsible approach explains the limits of astrology and traditional practices clearly. Do not stop medical care, legal help, financial planning, or other necessary support because someone has blamed a problem on black magic.
