These experiences, while sometimes having practical explanations, can also be examined astrologically. That is one reason why I always begin with a proper Kundali reading before suggesting any remedy.

How I Identify Nazar Dosh Through Vedic Astrology

At Kamakhya Astrologer, my process begins with a detailed analysis of the client's Janma Kundali (birth chart). I look at several key factors:

Lagna and Badhak Sthana:

The Badhak house (obstructing house) and its lord's placement tells me whether the person is astrologically inclined to experience repeated obstacles.

Moon and Rahu Placement:

A weak Moon in the chart indicates vulnerability to emotional disturbances and energy imbalances. Rahu conjunct or aspecting the Lagna lord can also amplify sensitivity to outside influences.

6th, 8th, and 12th Houses:

These houses in Vedic astrology are studied for hidden enemies, losses, and unseen challenges. If the 6th lord is placed in the 1st or 7th house with certain malefic combinations, it calls for a closer look.

Dasha and Transits:

The current Mahadasha or Antardasha of certain planets can make a person more open to Nazar Dosh. I check the running planetary period alongside active transits of Shani (Saturn) and Rahu to understand the timing. Once I complete this analysis, I share my findings with the client clearly. My goal is always to explain what I see in the chart rather than simply telling someone what they want to hear.

Traditional Remedies I Recommend for Nazar Dosh

Based on the Kundali reading and the nature of the Nazar Dosh, I guide my clients through time-tested Vedic remedies. These are drawn from classical texts and traditional practice - not generic suggestions.

Nazar Utarna Rituals

One of the most commonly practiced methods involves rotating rock salt or dry red chilies around the affected person seven times, then discarding or burning them. This method, known as Nazar Utarna, has been practiced in Indian households for generations. I advise clients on the correct procedure, including the day and time most suited as per their chart.

Protective Mantras and Chanting

I often recommend specific mantras based on the planetary afflictions I find. The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is widely used for general aura protection. For Nazar Dosh specifically, the following mantra is chanted 108 times on a Tuesday or Saturday: Om Hreem Namah, Sarva Nazar Dosh Nivaranaya Phat Swaha The Hanuman Chalisa, recited daily, is also one of the most established protective practices in Hindu tradition.

Nimbu-Mirchi (Lemon and Green Chilli) Totka

Hanging a string of one lemon and seven green chillies at the main entrance of the home or shop is a well-known practice. I advise clients to replace it every Saturday and dispose of the old one properly.

Nazar Kavach and Energized Yantras

Pandit Ravi Bhargav Ji also provides Nazar Suraksha Kavach, which is a ritually prepared protective amulet. The Kavach is inscribed with relevant Vedic mantras and energized through specific puja procedures. Similarly, a Nazar Dosh Yantra, when properly activated, is placed in the home or worn as per the individual's chart.

For children especially, a black dot applied on a regular basis or a black thread tied on the wrist is a classic protective measure from our tradition.

Nazar Dosh Puja

When the Dosh is more pronounced based on the Kundali, I conduct a focused Nazar Dosh Puja. This involves the chanting of protective Vedic mantras, havan with specific herbs, and the offering of prayers to the concerned deity as per the chart - which may be Maa Durga, Lord Hanuman, or Surya Dev depending on the planetary positions.

It is a cultural and religious belief rather than a scientifically established condition. I explain common Hindu practices for Nazar, including prayers and simple rituals, while also considering ordinary reasons for the difficulties a person is experiencing.
Traditional beliefs may connect sudden tiredness, repeated minor problems, unusual irritability, relationship tension, or unexplained setbacks with Nazar. These signs are not specific proof of an evil eye because ordinary circumstances can cause similar experiences. I therefore avoid declaring Nazar Dosh solely from symptoms and consider the person's circumstances before discussing a traditional remedy.
Hindu traditions include Hanuman prayers, Durga prayers, protective mantras, and deity-specific worship for people concerned about Nazar. The choice depends on the person's religious practice and situation. I explain the traditional meaning of the prayer instead of presenting a single mantra as universally necessary, scientifically proven, or capable of resolving every problem attributed to the evil eye.
Hanuman Chalisa is commonly recited by Hindu devotees for courage, devotion, and a sense of protection. Many people also use it when they are concerned about Nazar. Its role is religious rather than scientifically established as an evil-eye treatment. I can explain how it is traditionally used while keeping practical explanations for problems under consideration.
Durga worship is traditionally associated with strength and protection, and some families perform prayers when they believe Nazar or negative influence is affecting someone. I may discuss suitable Durga prayers according to the person's religious practice. Such worship should be understood as a traditional devotional practice, not as proof that another person has caused supernatural harm.
Astrology does not provide scientific proof of Nazar Dosh. In traditional practice, however, an astrologer may examine the Moon, Rahu, Ketu, the 8th house, the 12th house, and difficult planetary periods when someone reports unusual experiences. I consider these factors as part of an astrological interpretation rather than declaring that a planetary placement proves an evil eye.
Nazar Dosh and black magic are different concepts in common Indian usage. Nazar generally refers to the belief that negative attention or jealousy can affect someone, while black magic usually refers to intentional supernatural practices believed to cause harm. I keep these ideas separate because the traditional beliefs, practices, and reasons people associate with them are not identical.
Some traditional beliefs associate Nazar with arguments, emotional distance, or sudden changes in relationships. However, these experiences can also have ordinary causes such as communication problems, stress, family pressure, or incompatibility. I can examine the relationship through astrology and discuss traditional prayers for Nazar, but I do not treat every disagreement as evidence of an evil eye.
Different Indian families use different Nazar-removal customs, including prayers, salt-based rituals, chili and lemon practices, camphor, or deity worship. These practices vary by region and family tradition. I explain the cultural background rather than presenting one method as universally correct. Ordinary household problems should also be handled practically instead of automatically being blamed on Nazar.
You should avoid assuming Nazar is responsible when a problem has a clear medical, psychological, financial, relationship, or practical explanation. Traditional belief can be part of personal faith, but it should not replace appropriate help. I prefer examining the actual circumstances first and then discussing Nazar-related prayers or rituals only when they fit the person's religious beliefs.
